The International Trade program offers three tracks: General Class, Experimental Class, and International Class. The General Class enrolls students through the national college entrance examination. The Experimental Class is a joint program between the School of Economics and the School of Foreign Languages. The International Class mainly recruits international students.

International Trade Program (General Class) :Students enter the School of Economics through the college entrance examination. Its program features are:

Broad foundation, distinctive characteristics, and cross-cultural orientation:

Through broad-based training in economic scientific thinking, students acquire the ability to analyze and handle issues from a global perspective.

Through distinctive professional education, especially foreign language teaching and practical training, students master professional knowledge and skills such as international trade rules, conventions, practices, and international marketing concepts and strategies.

The program’s educational philosophy, which emphasizes international trade, digital trade, international business, artificial intelligence, and proficiency in foreign languages, is encapsulated in the motto: "Standing at the intersection of Chinese and Western cultures, focusing on global business opportunities."

International Economics and Trade & English Experimental Class (Jointly offered by the School of Economics and the School of Foreign Languages)

Leveraging the disciplinary strengths of both schools, a separate training plan is formulated, with all-English or bilingual (Chinese-English) teaching to cultivate "international + interdisciplinary" high-end talents.

Small-class teaching; selection within the school after enrollment.

Students from the School of Economics can obtain a Bachelor of Economics (major) and a Bachelor of Arts (minor); students from the School of Foreign Languages can obtain a Bachelor of Arts (major) and a Bachelor of Economics (minor).

Political Economy, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, International Finance (English), International Trade, Development Economics, International Trade Practices, Principles of Accounting, International Marketing, Econometrics, International Business (English), Cross-border E-commerce, International Commercial Law (English), Digital Trade, etc.

Main Practical Teaching Links:Professional internships; social practices; market research; participation in various competitions, etc.

International Class: It mainly recruits international students, especially those from countries along the "Belt and Road". It has a separate enrollment plan and curriculum, with all-English teaching delivered by returnee faculty from the Department of International Trade, the School of Economics, and other schools.

Career Prospects :Graduates can be competent in work in government foreign trade management departments, foreign trade operations and international marketing in foreign-funded enterprises, national comprehensive management departments, and large industrial and commercial trade companies. They can also start their own trading enterprises. Statistics in recent years show that over 90% of undergraduate graduates are employed in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area.
