The program features strong knowledge applicability. Graduates in Accounting are in rigid demand in the financial and accounting departments of state-owned enterprises, listed companies, financial institutions, as well as administrative institutions such as governments, schools, and hospitals. It is one of the majors with the widest employment prospects.
Shenzhen University’s Accounting program emphasizes "specialization". Its professional courses cover all 6 subjects of the National Uniform Examination for Certified Public Accountants (CPA) in China, with teaching materials adopted from CPA exam review materials. Graduates of this program have performed excellently in postgraduate studies and employment: some have pursued further education at renowned domestic universities such as Xiamen University and Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, as well as overseas institutions like the University of Texas at Austin (ranked among the top 3 in accounting in the US).
The program also offers an International Accounting Innovation Class (ACCA), with a separate training plan and curriculum. Students are selected through a secondary selection across the university after enrollment and form an independent class (for details on the selection scope and planned number of students, please refer to the university introduction section). All 13 courses of the ACCA qualification exam are integrated into the teaching system, using original English textbooks and taught in full English or bilingual (Chinese-English) mode. Among the 2024 graduates of the ACCA class, approximately 40% (36%) pursued postgraduate studies at prestigious universities at home and abroad, such as the University of Sydney and the University of Hong Kong. Some graduates have signed contracts with well-known enterprises like Huawei and BYD, state-owned banks including Industrial and Commercial Bank of China and China Construction Bank, and international accounting firms such as PricewaterhouseCoopers and KPMG.
