I. Admission Programs and Procedures

II. Study Mode and Duration

1. The study mode is full-time.

2. The standard duration of study is generally 3 to 4 years, subject to the academic system of the specific program, with a maximum limit of 5 years.

III. Eligibility Requirements

1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens holding a valid foreign passport, in good health, of good conduct, and abide by Chinese laws, regulations, and the university’s rules and regulations.

1. Contact the supervisor (see the list of supervisors for details) and obtain the *Recommendation Letter from Intended Supervisor* (template in the attachment).

2. Log in to the website of the College of International Exchange (CIE) at http://lxs.szu.edu.cn/ to register online.

3. Enter the system to fill in personal information and visa details, upload materials and proof of application fee payment as required, and submit the application.

V. Application Materials

Please prepare the following materials in advance for upload during the online application process.

1. Master’s graduation certificate and degree certificate. Fresh graduates may provide the original pre-graduation certificate issued by their attending university (the official master’s degree certificate must be obtained before enrollment and will be inspected upon enrollment).

Those who have not graduated from the master’s program shall submit a pre-graduation certificate indicating the expected graduation date, and present the original certificate, transcripts, and their translations during registration.

12. Applicants applying for the Guangdong Provincial Government Scholarship for International Students in Guangdong should download the *Application Form for Guangdong Provincial Government Scholarship for International Students in Guangdong*, fill it out completely, and then upload it.

VI. Admission Process

1. After the application deadline, our university will organize an expert review panel to examine the application materials. The admission of international doctoral students is based on a comprehensive assessment of applicants' professional competence, language proficiency, and other relevant aspects. If necessary, remote or in-person interviews may be arranged.

SZU will admit doctoral applicants based on an overall evaluation of their professional level, language ability, and other supporting documents. During this process, remote or face-to-face interviews may be conducted if necessary.

2. In June, pre-admission results will be notified to students via email. Students can also check the admission status through the online application system.

4. Admitted students must use the *Admission Notice* and *Foreigner Student Confirmation Form* (JW202) to apply for an X1 visa at the Chinese embassy or consulate. They must convert the X1 visa to a study-related residence permit within 30 days of arriving in China. Those who fail to complete the relevant procedures within the time limit will be dismissed. The university does not accept students registering with non-study visas.

Admitted students should apply for an X1 visa at the Chinese embassy (or consulate) in their country of residence with the *Admission Notice of Shenzhen University* and *Foreigner Student Confirmation Form (Form JW202)*, and convert the X1 visa to a foreign student residence permit within 30 days of entry. Students who fail to apply for the relevant visa and residence permit will be required to withdraw. SZU does not accept students with non-student visas for enrollment.

5. Admitted students must register at the university according to the date and location specified in the *Admission Notice*. Early registration is not accepted.

6. Original master’s degree certificates, language proficiency certificates, and other relevant documents will be verified during registration. Those who fail to provide the certificates or whose certificates fail verification will have their admission资格 canceled.

VII. Fees Standard

1. Application Fee: 400 RMB / 60 USD. Once paid, the application fee is non-refundable. Applications with unpaid application fees within the specified time will not be processed.

3. Accommodation and Insurance

(1) Accommodation: The Yuelong Campus offers single rooms and double rooms for selection, with fees ranging from 2,400 to 8,000 RMB per person per semester; the Lihu Campus provides double rooms at 750 RMB per person per semester. Students are required to pay accommodation fees according to the room type. (Water and electricity fees are charged separately.)
